show the hard stuff. I don’t shoot model in a studio but need to separate fur and hair against a background that may be similarly colored.

    Hi Richard – I sympathise!!
To be fair to Colin, he did say right at the beginning, ‘If you know you’re going to cut out your model later, then don’t shoot her against a complicated background’.
At 9.24, Colin says “…. someone’s going to ask ‘Why didn’t we use it against a difficult background?’ “. Colin then gives a brief review of what might be tried.
I’m sure the guys at Vogue have smarter tricks, but PhotoshopCAFE isn’t aimed at Vogue pro’s.

Love your tutorials… but especially this one. It is going to make my life much easier. Do you have a “hard” copy of this tutorial (CUTTING OUT HAIR AND FUR)? I would really like to have one for my “Now What Do I Do” folder on my Mac Pro. Thanks

It doesn’t seem to work as smooth for me although MUCH Better than previous versions. When I’m using the brush to refine the selection, I do not get the grayed out path that shows for you. Is that an option I’m missing somewhere? (PC)
