Colin Smith tests out the new Mavic 3 Classic.

The specs are very similar to the Mavic 3, but the price starts at less than $1500 USD. The main difference is the zoom camera has been removed. The main Hasselblad camera can do a 3x digital zoom.

If you like the high quality of the images and don’t need the zoom camera, and would like to save $500-$600 the Mavic 3 Classic is a great option.

Main Specs Mavic 3 Classic

The aircraft has 46 minute battery life (uses same batteries as Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine)

Range is 15k with OS3+

Camera is Hasselblad micro 4/3

Video, up to 5.1k 10-bit DLog (200 mb/s) at 50fps. Supports 4k 120fps in slow motion mode.

Photos 20mb with Hasselblad in DNG Raw or jpg.

Omni directional obsticle avoidance and smart return to home (APAS 5)

Smart shots and quickshots as well as tracking

Night mode and Cruise control.

My conclusion is this is the best quality imagery you will get on a drone for this price. The quality is equal to the DJI Mavic 3 which is the best I have experienced in this size and weight class.
