Anyone use a wacom tablet

Hi, I do a lot of work in PS Illustrator and indesign, Ive heard that many people use a graphics tablet instead of a mouse, anyone here have any experience of this. I am looking to start with the wacom MTE450 its going for £50 with programmable function keys!

I have used both. Actually, I did absolutely all of my design work with a mouse for a long time. I recently began using a Wacom tablet and I honestly wish I had started using one earlier. I am using the Bamboo Touch model and it works great for what I do. The MTE450 is definitely a sweet setup. If you do a lot of original illustrations you'll love it. Let me know how it works out.

:cheers

I use with illustrator all of the time for just about everything except for text work; placement and layout. It did take a little bit for me to get used to the feel, but know there is no problem at all. It's hard to say exactly how you will use a pad; I still use both mouse and pad. But I am sure that once you get used to the feel you will definitely notice and appreciate the extra level of control.

I am getting to the point where I use my Wacom for everything, even moving through other programs and folders. Even though I still use both mouse and pad, I love the control of the Wacom. I know that it has changed everything about the way that I design, at least as far as the mechanics are concerned. I have so much more control over original paintings in Photoshop that I keep working on one after the other.
