8bit vs 16bit
hi,
i draw an online comic. i draw and ink the comic by hand, then scan it and use photoshop for coloring and editing. up until now i used 16 bit image,
which was the default from the scanned file. but i recently found out that using 8 bit makes the image easier to work with, and much smaller in size.
my question is - is 8 bit good enough for coloring? does it cause any diffrence? when is 16 bit needed?
thank you

Mood: "coo coo" - a strictly medical term, used to describe a patient that has delved into a realm of insanity...

hi matan, welcome to the cafe. others may have another opinion, but the image from your scanner is probably best, and is what i did years ago. hard
drives were smaller and cores less, but we suffered through it. today, drives are cheap and cores abundant. upgrade the machine, don't degrade the
art!
