Nice globe, I really like it, Its a little too ovloid for me, but if your not making a true globe then I like it... try to do something for the background...

Thats cool.
It gives me a futuristic/metallic feel....but also kind of warm. Ya know?
But like Alchemy said...try adding something to the background. Nothing to flashy though..don't want to take nothing from the globe itself.

I like it, very nice texture, but it don't look very hot. Try adding some flame being shot out in space from the surface of the sun.

Looks nice, you should keep a copy in an asset library (although a sphere would have more uses) and reuse it in future work. Shrunk down you could use it for lights etc.

Yeah i plan to do stuff with the background. its a bit plain. and the flam idea sounds great, except i dont know how to make them and ill the tuts ive seen for flames is for Fire text
-
to make flames from the sun, just make a new layer with a black circle the same size as your "sun" and make it have a white background.
then invert the colors and wind it from both sides until you are happy with the size of the 'flames'. then liquify the flames and hue/saturate them like in text. then just duplicate the flame layer and rotate it 90 degrees. the only problem comes from the corners, but if you keep duplicating the layer and free rotating it a bit more every duplication and then erase the unneeded 'flame' then it shoud look alright.
