MY LIFE IS OVER!!

a few months ago I lost my 1,5 years portfolio by my own stypidity - I wanted to try a rare graphics card (ATi Rage Fury MAXX) but it does not work with windows XP. As my hard disk is divided into two logical disks, I set Windows 98 to format the system part. Unfortunately, Win98 do not understand XP logical drives, so it formatted all. Many sketches, tons of files, collected fonts, samples, all other items - lost. Previously backed up my art about more than a year ago. the only good thing was after installing XP again, all was so fast and stable. And I sold the Rage MAXX soon, as it never began to work. well that's the story.

in one way or another, all you have ever created, it is somehow restored in your mind. so as rare as I've needed anything from lost data, it has been no prob to restore it, except paintings and projects I haven't had uploaded even a previed in deviantart etc.

They can't be fixed. The hard disk is broken. And it was almost brand new!
Luckily most of the photos and jpg's are restored now. But psd's seem to be totally corrupted and messed up. Some psd's came back but with some layers missing and settings messed up.

arrrrr i designed and made those web pages for months.. they were the best work I've ever been able to do, and now they're broken. It really VITUTTAAs me.

thank you everybody for your sympaties. I'm sorry for your losses too.

And Kristoficus, my bf is very good with computers, hundred times better than me. I really don't think he'd lie to me about this... His 3D renders and some of our mp3s had gone, too, so.

But MAYBE it was his mother who came here one day!!


And Kiwi and Phil, thanks for the recovering tips. That of Phil's was the programme I used first. It brought back most of the recovered files.
You know any good tut's or links for upgrading a bf, as you advised me to do?

i've always been thinkin everyone must have his/her own computer and use it only by his/herself then there's no-one to blame later

happy everything is OK now and sometimes a spotless page gives very good motivation to design something new and even more cutting edge

my condolonces viika. I've never lost the majority of my work before. But i have worked on a render for upwards of 6 hours...only to be sitting there waiting for it to antialias and watch my computer crash...and i didnt save...was planning to after the render...stupid me
but yours is much worse. sorry you lost your work
