how, or what's the right way to change A chameleon's skin color?

hi, guys. i'm new here & hope u guys can help e out with PS skill.

i'm doing a project. i'm trying to make a green chameleon into white & black (black strips) like piano key color. (but still in RGB color)

what's the right way of doing this?

i wanna it to be so realistic...
