exploding

Im trying to avoid bringing in a 3rd party prog. to make a exploding fire effect...ypu know like the ones in the space effects and launching rocket ships, a meteor crashing the atmsphere...any Suggz.?

the explode im looking for has more of a
fire(Y) feeling in to it...like shooting stars and stuff...you know.

mh...i think you will hardly find a tut for such a detailed thingy...?!
only "easy" explosion i can think of is palying with clouds...
