    Some Buffalo Pics

Hey all, haven't posted anything in ages so I thought I'd share some shots from yesterday. I haven't had a chance to do any post yet, or even to really go through all of what I shot but here are a few. I went out to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve about 50 miles west of here. I got there right at dawn and it was amazing, there were hundreds (if not thousands of them).

Hey Jay, long tim eno see you too, how's it shaking in my home town, the Big Apple?

Thanks Dawn, mine too so far.

Thanks Chuck, yeah it's great to see any species coming back.

    Thanks OG!

Thanks Randy, Yellowstone on two wheels, it just doesn't get much better than that, that's another line on my bucket list now.

Nice close -up photos! May I ask what camera lens you were using ? I know buffalo can be rather panicky around humans ...

Thanks, Nikon 18-200 VR, and they were close, probably too close a few times but they were pretty good about letting me know when I was and I backed off when they did. I tried being as still and quiet as I could be but a few times I could see them react to the shutter noise.

That particular lens is really good for this kind of shots. Very clear images at a decent distance. Anyway, I have another question: how do you deal with shutter noise?
