Wow. Liquid Refective Text Tut is missing a step!!!

Wow, I keep seeing that this question is not answered yet the tutorial is still hosted on the web. ?? Isn't this tutorial missing a step?? If so why hasn't the author fixed it? I have tried this tutorial over a year ago and tried again thinking maybe the author corrected it but obviously not.

Any help would be appreciated. My results were tried to the T and yet the results are not correct. Grrrrrrrr..

As you can see the text is not clear and transparent like the example. I really want the results in the tutorial. Any one know how??
