    General Router Question?

Can anyone answer this question for a friend of mine?

My internet router is going out and I need to get a new one. I have a 2 story 2,700 sq ft home and looking for a good brand to go with. I know I have some computer savvy folks on here and could use some advice.

I'm not sure of a good one, but make sure you stay away from Belkin, unless you want Internet that breaks every five minutes (absolutely no exaggeration there). Hope you find one

ya, i've read belkin are a brand to avoid for routers.
my experience with netgear routers has been good.
i like that you can use a web browser to configure them,
    no software install necessary.

And yeah its great that you can configure direct at any browser even on an ipad...

Netgear is a very good router, but even the best router won't help you if you have a huge home and the plug where the router will stand is too far away from your laptop. I heard it's possible to buy some kind of transmitters that inhance the signal, but I am not quite sure how it works.

    Router

The best router with the most range is a Cisco router. I have one of them and it reaches far and have had no problems with it.
There is the EA4500. it has the farthest reach.
    see it here

There is also the E-3200 which is a little cheaper just not quite as far but still a good range
    see it here
    Hope this helps
