Boss Man
my CG / Photograph Mermaid art
Here is my Mermaid. I photographed the model. Used 2 Kino flos, one with midnight blue gel for the blue moonlight in the hair and back.
The moon and back ground were all photographed by me and composited. I modeled the lower half of the mermaid (tail) in Maya and then brought it into PS as an obj. I then textured and composited in PS. The texture was a fish with a lot of cloning and painting and stretching to get a good texture map. Hope you enjoy!

Swagtastic!
Very nice work - very realistic transition from the model to the fin. I like how you transitioned as opposed to having a hard break there like some artists do. Nice work, and great work on the touching hand between the model and the reflection, and the resulting ripples.

Way to go, Colin! lovely work. I can't imagine the time in making the scales texture.
Well deserved honour in the Adobe booth too!
