A little project I did to remember techniques

    Hey everyone.

I haven't posted in here since 2004ish, so I doubt anyone remembers me! Anyway, I rediscovered my joy for designing and did a little project to try and learn all the new things I've missed in the programs I'm using. Any critique would be most welcome as I'm quite rusty - (It took me 15 minutes to remember how I loaded my brushes in CS5!)

    Have a nice day

Hey Czen, I remember you and welcome back. I like it it's got a cool feel to it, the only thing that sort of bugs me is the ring of light (maybe a lens flare effect) inside the flower. All in all nice though. I look forward to more. Glad you got your design mojo back.

Heya Colin! Wow, you're still around! Good to see ya What do you mean by 'posting it here'? I thought I did! Or perhaps you meant as an image instead of a link?

EDIT: Yowza! cfire! I remember you as well. Glad to hear you guys are still around and kicking!

And thanks for that -- I wasn't sure wether to leave it or remove it. It's actually a brush-made effect with layer masking. Wanted to create sort of a magic swirly feel, but it was hard to get it right. I'll try a to work more on that technique next time

I think it would work if you followed inside of the petals rather than a circle.

Alright, that should do it. A magic swirly thing didn't really fit in after the touch-up so I guess I'll be saving the magic :P

I like it, it looks like a blown glass sculpture.
