How much of your life has photography taken over?

I was wondering how much time people spend on photography. If you're a hobbyist is just one of many hobbies, is it your life?Is photography in the background of your life or is it a main focus prevelant to others? How many hours a week do you spend on photography?
Cheers for a any advice .

A person should earn from the field he is interested in. This not only gives him pleasure but also keeps him energized every time he goes out for his work. Many people make their hobbies as their profession. I have been passionate for photography since my child hood and the thing which kept me stuck to this field was camera. I have spent my life taking many snap shots mainly of people, natural scenes and places. Although I am in another profession, but I have not left my passion of taking snap shots.

I first started in graphic design. From there I was working in several companies doing several things in advertising. I then purchased my first digital camera almost 10 years ago, from there I started learning more about photography day by day. As soon as I started to adjust and understand the depth of field, F-Stops, Inverse square law and lighting I was being called more and more for photo shoots.
Having a graphic design background really helps alot. It puts more work on the table along with the money!

The lens is a great lens but a lens made out of plastic. For me the only - point. If you bought the lens just to take photos, just go ahead and have fun. If you bought it to have a wide angle, go for a bit wider angle to get the effect.
