Boss Man
Film Noir style
Here is something I shot with a single light source. I was going for the old time Film Noir look.

Nice one Colin... imo probably the best shot of yours I've seen. Especially liking the subtle depth of field loss of focus, could even be more imo. B/W is always striking, but I also used to enjoy shooting with one light source (in my previous life as a fashion photographer). The funny thing is that they often used a number of light sources in film noir style. What really gave film noir lighting it's signature look though was the use of stage fresnel lens lights... very hot lights, and they had to be quite close to the model.
Hah! Sounds like I was there... but I'm not that old... I think.

I love the lighting! Shooting with a single light source is such a challenge.
What I might suggest tho, is with the pose. If you move her slightly to her right to show the back arm, it's my opinion that it will add a lot of impact. Losing the back arm has a tendency to alarm the eye. By seeing the back arm it brings a sense of natural being.
To your point of Film Noire, I think you've captured the mood here.
