i'm a hired gun in my current band. we're playing in Hollywood on Oct 2nd. besides the invite, i just wanted to get some pointers on places of interest. i plan to go up the day before and hang out. thanks

I'd go to the gig, but Ill be at Adobe MAX in LA at that time, not that far away.
In Hollywood? You wanna do touristy things or local things?

Hollywood and Highland - great view of the hollywood sign from the 3rd floor of the mall above the Starbucks
Chinese theater (hands in the cement stuff)
Capitol records building (you probably won't get inside though)

Sunset Plaza area (not touristy)
R24 (cheap but good)

drinks (classy = pricey)
Roosevelt Hotel
W on Hollywood
