Trying to get better at this technique

Using Brush / Feather / Shape, Any tutorials or clue what to call this technique?

I can produce similar results using feather, than just masking / deleting, I just wanted to know if anyone ever seen a tutorial or something to take this to the next level.

Uploading a transparent PNG, Using White

I'm guessing it has something to do with the fill / flow / but i'm unsure how its so perfect. Trying to use this with Squares,

I'm a little unclear on what technique you are referring to here?

    Something like this?

new image, fill with white, new layer....selectiontool and make an elips ...then fill again with white.
Then take the layerstyle and do the setting see screen.

I'm really new to Photoshop, but… I'm a pretty quick learner.

That looks like it was drawn with the pen tool & applying a stroke, then possibly an inner shadow… Maybe even reducing the opacity

maybe even the elliptical tool? Then they just created an inner shadow inside of the selection? Then erased what they didn't need

that one could work, but i think what he wants is something that has a softer transition from the opaque section to the transparent one. i think using feather would indeed work for that one.
