photo getting pixel when enlarging it

    Hello all

I am bit confuse. I took some pictures during my vacation, some of which I want to make big prints. I took those pictures in raw file. My camera is canon DSLR T1i. I have did the post processing in lightroom 3 and convert them to JPEG files, now when I am trying to see them in zoom in I can see lots of pixels. Any
reason why its doing this and tell me how I can fix this problem so it does not happen in future. I like to create some large prints for my living room but due to this problem I am stuck with the smaller prints.

    Thank you
    Junaid

Why are you trying to enlarge jpgs? Go back to Lightroom and output them. You probably reduced the size when you exported to jpg. There is no reason to print a jpg if you have the RAW file, never, ever.

If I don't convert them to JPEG then I won't be able to print them. I am not using my printer I am using services like Walgree, walmart, or staples. Please keep in mind i am new to all this photography and the lightroom, lots of things I still don't know like u mention output them in lightroom. I also convert them to jpeg is for other family members to seem them on their computers.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    Thank you

No problem, just go back to Lightroom and choose a larger size when you output. Just make sure you are making copies of the original and not copies of copies. For example, don't copy the JPG. This way you will get better results

Colin, you said never print from jpeg if you hqve raw file. I didn't know printers would accept raw files. I was under the impression that the printer/printer software needed a flatened file such as .tiff, .png, jpg... Etc in order to print.

Nope, you can print right out of Lightroom through the print module, it's very good. Now if your sending it off to an outside source, that's an entirely different story
