    dotART - cultural association int\'l digital art contest

    hello, we are a no-profit-cultural-association based in Trieste, Italy but we like to operate internationally. Lately we brought an exhibition in Pécs, Hungary B)

    And now we are here to point out our main contest, Urban 2011
    that is not only about PHOTOGRAPHY but, also DIGITAL ART; at the end we will make an exhibition with the top ranked works (other than despicable money in the main eShops that offer gift

    certificates )

    International photography and art contest + Exhibition "URBAN - Everyday city life in your pictures"


    April 1st, 2011 onwards, subscriptions to “URBAN - Everyday city life in your pictures”, international photo and art contest, organized and supported by dotART association, based in

    Trieste, Italy, will open.

    Contest aims at picking up - through art photography and visual art, landscapes, people, faces, streets, buildings - moments of daily life and the city as urban environment.

    URBAN is divided in two sections: Photography, and (new in 2011 edition) Computer Art - dedicated to mixed technique works (scanned images, 3D rendering, illustration, comics,

    digital art and graphics, superimposed images), where computer support is used at least in one of the production stages.

    To subscribe and participate, just follow instructions on www.dotart.it/urban2011 (will be active from April 1st). Works must be submitted not later

    than May 1st, 2011.

    Professional artists, photographers and experts in communication will evaluate submitted works and decide who will be the winner (names of jury members are being defined and will be announced

    shortly). After contest closure, works mentioned by jury will be awarded and exposed in a collective exhibition (location and dates will be announced later on). Total prize value will be over

    2.500 €!

    that is true and fully correct.
    what do I have to show to have it "proper and correct" even from far-far away?

    New York City graphic designer, with 27 years of experience in every area of graphic design, especially logos, lettering, type and corporate identity. His famous logos are: History Channel, the personal flag for Hillary Clinton and many more.

    Fulvio Merlak
    Born in Trieste in 1948, he takes pictures since he was young. President of the Photographic Association Fincantieri-Wärtsilä of Trieste, during the 80s and 90s he first was Territorial, then Regional Executive of FIAF. Since 1991 he is a cultural operator of visual communication and from 2002 he is the President of FIAF - Italian Federation of Photographic Associations founded in 1948 in Turin.

    Mauro Tozzi
    Photographer and cultural operator since 1979, has made tens of exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He runned an exhibit space in the '80s and projected international events. In the last years his creativity is oriented on "low technology", making visual experiences without hi tech, such as stenopeic photography and "toy cameras". Since 1991 is Artistic Director of Visionaria, International Film Festival and, since 2011 also of the UlassaiFilmFest, Documentary Festival.

    Massimo Giacon
    Padua, class of '60, illustrator, comics artist and designer for more than 25 years. He worked as comic artis with Frigidaire, Linus, XL of Repubblica Newspaper and many other magazines. He illustrated several advertising campaigns such as Eminence, Videomusic and Absolut vodka. Draws objects and textiles for Rainbow, Memphis, Interflex, Artemide, Ritzenhoff, Octopus, Design Gallery, Fine Factory, Super Ego design, Swatch, Matteo Thun, Philips, Ritzenhoff, Telecom. Teaches at the European Institute of Design. He published "Amami (Love me)", a book with writer Tiziano Scarpa. He is working on a new graphic novel for Lizard/RCS Editore with Daniele Luttazzi.
