Hi guys - new member here. Thought I'd upload a 3D image I created in Cinema 4D. Rendered with no lights - illumination surfaces only.
cheers

Wow the surface illuminations came out great. These are cool bots. I haven't used C4D in a while

Regular
nice rendering and illumination, welcome to the cafe

Looks to be an hommage to some of the early 3D renders of teapots, 'cept these are teaBots!
Nice work and welcome to the cafe.

Welcome Jedi! Nice scene! Working on some robots myself..in max. But I really like C4D's clean look...especially using illumination only.
How long did it take to render that scene?
-
Hi everyone - thanks for the welcome and kind comments.
The render took about 20 minutes at 1280 x 1024 - with GI and ambient occlusion.

Yeah...GI and AO is really expensive. I always cut corners for speed..and rely on post. I cant imagine waiting 20 min a frame for a 2 min animation.... but for a still image..thats fine.
Keep up the good work...cant wait to see more

This was very good rendering. I haven’t used C4D in a while, myself (I’ve been creating and editing live video for a while now). But this image was very clean, and neatly done. I enjoy the theme, and the few laughs I got from the comments before mine. Good job on this.
