Layer style \"Eye\" is grayed - out - How make it turn on

    Hello

I wondered why my projects weren't matching the examples I was following.

Then i noticed that even when the layer syle eye was visible it was grayed out. How to I apply visibility to all layers functions?

    thanks
    casey

    Couple of things to check...

Are you working on a layered document?
Are you in RGB Color Mode?

    Hello.

I am working on a layered document. And the color mode is RGB.

What is curious is that the sample project file shows everything correctly. It's the copy I built from scratch that is not displaying well.

Have you tried clicking on the word "EFFECTS" that is just above the name (IE: Pattern Overlay) of the layer style applied ? This allows the style to be visible .

Thanks. All your questions / prompting helped.

I kept trying things... a right click on effects and selecting "Show all effects" did the trick.

What is confusing is all Effects in my mind were shown. I could read them! They weren't applied (a better term, IMHO)

here is the photo of it not working...
