Printing a color proof test is the best way to control you colors. Colors may vary from one printing to another. Therefore, before printing it is advisable to make a color test.

Heya Raul,
If the printing is offset spot color, then the press operator should be able to read the label on the ink can. Reflex blue is reflex blue. If it's going to a digital machine, ask for a single proof copy. There's a bit of a color shift no matter what it's printed with. I have seen several "shades" of reflex blue.

Hey ron, yes is offset, not sure about the spot color.....
Yeah thats what i was afraid of, i guess i tell the costumer....
so what you are telling me is basicly no matter how well calibrated the machine is, there is going to be a slightly shift on the color?
how diffrent would you think for bussines cards in Couche paper of 300grms?
Im liking been printing broker, i need a new Wacom!
great learning, thanks all......
Thanks Man.....
Raul.

Spot colors duplicated with digital machines are compromised of percentages of CYMK mixed in layers with dots to optically trick the mind into seeing "a" color.
Spot color in offset printing is ink mixed to a specific formula using various amonts of specific inks to create the desired color.
No matter how well calibrated, digital machines can have variances in color reproduction. A lot of consumer level laser printers cannot reproduce Pantone colors. Even with traditional offset, reflex blue can also vary in shade.
Then there's paper. Gloss coated or matte finish. White, bright white, off white, chartreuse.... It all affects how the "color" looks. The important thing with business cards, spelling. Name and number easy to read.
