8bit, 16bit, 32bit for output from 3d apps into PS questions!
HI all, I found this explanation that makes sense but does not shed any light on which to use for 3d apps, like poser or c4d:
http://www.instructables.com/id/RAW-...bit-explained/
My own tests show a big difference in outputting between 8 and 16 bit quality wise, and very little difference between 16 and 32 (but perhaps my Apple Cinema lcd can't even see true 32bit, not sure). But there is a big difference in functionality within PS - many plugs don't work in 16-bit and even less in 32. Some ps functions do not even work in 32bit, like the wand.
So it seems 16-bit is the way to go, but to use the other filters that i need at some point i have to change modes to 8. The REALLY STRANGE thing about this part is that going from 16 to 8 in PS does not seem to effect quality that much. So I guess this is the solution? Thx!!!

coco i worked for a compeny that developed natal project as a freelancer once.
and they asked me to give them evreything in alpha 32 bit apperently it provides better resolution when working in heigher resoluted projects like for a tv.
as well found myself fighting with creating at 32bit so had to creat in 16 and later on converet which means 16 and 32 not that diffrent but options wise they are.
8 bit couldnt prduce alpha gif if i recall correctly.
