I'll lead off by saying I am in no way a 3D artist - I usually just use it for photographic compositing, relying on stock or Poser models. These two are 100% Photoshop. The DNA took more effort than I care to admit...

Thanks, Colin. The DNA strand is about where I'd draw the line between using PS and a dedicated 3D app, I think. Simple things like object distribution and grouping make this kind of thing difficult.

The flag turns out to be dead easy in concept. I'll work up a video tutorial on it.
