Markleeville, California
View of Historic Markleeville, California. This is comming into town, south on US Hwy 89. The town becomes a deadend in the winter season. As of this date, Hwy 89 south over Monitor Pass and Hwy 4 southwest over Ebbetts Pass through the sierras are both closed.
Shot and processed this morning.

View of Raymond Peak just outside of "downtown" Markleeville, Ca. headed west towards Grover Hot Springs State Park on Hot Springs Road.
I live about a mile down this road and see this view on a daily basis.

Like number one. Number two is a view for landscape into portrait and I see a lot of noise... I would clean it up, but it could be a personal taste. I love noise in an image but that image should be more (darker) black and white.

Thanks Hermie.
The noise (sudo-grain) is intentional. Using my own method of processing. ...who needs topaz anyway? heh. I've taken several shots from this location and the landscape orientation somehow doesn't work as well. Too much sky or too much road. ...don't think the owners would appreciate me climbing up on their horse shed to get a better angle. Been attempting a panoramic shot from this location without much success. Working on it though.

The general store in Historic Markleeville.

This is where all the seasonal fishers come to brag about the one that got away. Mainly because most the fishing out here is catch and release.
...and also the place to purchase outdated milk and drygoods. mmmm, twinkies from 1996. Yum.
