I'm sorry Elemento. But I love Canon and some other fools love Nikon. We think that these two make the best DSLR camera's.Origineel gepost door elemento

Now a days it's not the camera that is worth worrying about. It's the lenses, always buy good lenses....
If you buy sony (and therefor sony lenses) you can only resell them to someone how loves sony, not photography. Because a lot of people don't have a sony.
I hope it makes sence i wrote here....
yes hermie what you say is true, glass is no longer the issue...for us it's HD video shot using a low light lens like the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2, which would be impossible at the same price point using a conventional HD vidcam...well, that's the plan for our next documentary - use all our great still glass for video...plus, you can mount these puppies anywhere without expensive rigging

Agreed mixed up, the 24fps is huge in video. I attended a lecture by Shane Hurlbutt (DP of Terminator) They are using the 5D in movie making at major studios.
Although I wouldn't write of Sony yet, they are making some pretty nice cameras and lenses these days, we may have a 3rd player in the DSLR circles soon. Don't forget they have a history of making great high end video cams and lenses.
Sony DSLR line is that of the now defunct Minolta. You can use any older (Minolta) and new (Sony) lens on the Alpha series cameras. I shot with one a few years back and enjoyed the steady aim (for bumpy terrain, such as on a motorcycle) and super-night-shot.
Now personally I have, still and always will shoot Canon, but that doesn't mean the other brands are any worse/better. The camera is only a vehicle to the photo, the photographer (you) still has to have the talent. Now I know some bestseller photography books state otherwise, but its complete bull. Ask a photographer, not someone that snaps photos for his next book.

Ok, You guys win.
I am bored, I want Video, I want to trade my D700 for a 5DII... Thoughts?
I figure I can sell quite a bit of my gear and buy a markii + 35L and be a happy man...
I would still keep S5 and some nikon glass
