Lightbulb design question

Hi,

I am doing a project for myself and would like to design a lightbulb as a globe (a similar idea can be found here http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-pho...-world-map.php) i appreciate the example given extremely complex however, is there an easier way of imprinting a map outline on to a picture of a lightbulb?

hmm.... You could... you could liquify a map and push it into the shape of a lightbulb. Lower the opacity and do the same with the background map. it will look a little weird, but it's a start...

Hi,

Thankyou for your speedy response. i dont acctually wish to have a backgroundmap as such. I would rather have an image of a light bulb with only the countries super impossed onto it (therefore would have an opaic background as apposed to blue as shown in my example). Ive tried some other ideas however so far have been pretty tacky! Do you think cutting out some images of countries and trying to spherize them onto an image of a light bulb would be tacky? or can you think of a better way?
