CS4 Bridge

Hi Barry here, I am very new to CS4 and bridge.
I have Colins tutioral, however I cannot fine where to import photos from an external hard drive- only from a camera.

Can sombody please shed some light on this for me.

Hi Barry.

I am also new to CS4/Bridge. In fact, I am a true fledgling at Photoshop PERIOD . However (and, if I understand you correctly) I was also a little confused about the same issue.

In Bridge's 'File' menu, the only import option shows 'Get Photos From Camera'. Clicking on that opens up the 'Photo Downloader' window where (again) you will see the 'Get Photos From' box under the 'Source' area.

I never download from the camera, opting for pulling from my CF card. The card, naturally, will not show up as a source option unless it is resting in the reader slot to begin with. And even then, it doesn't show unless I pull down the box via the chevron. Methinks that your connected external drive should indeed show up as a source option, once you click on the chevron just to the right of that 'Device' box.

Hopefully, this will help. Then, too, it could be that you already have matters in hand .
