I'm here to announce that I have just started a new challenge. It consists in denoising a 115 year old sound by editing its image generated via my program Photosounder using Photoshop (or any other image editing program) or by writing a dedicated image processing algorithm.

There's generally no problem with that, not sure why he would need Boss Man's permission.
Usually only those with more than 100 posts can post contests, this is to protect cafe's forumners.

Doc, you may see my post count as 1,100 something, but I have been around since 2001 and have lost several accumulations of the post count due to scamming and hacks. Just don't want you to think I am a newbie with this forum and pointing out what might be the obvious without justification or prior knowledge.

Friendly challenges here at the cafe can be started by anyone. And I encourage people to start these.
What we are careful about are outside challenges with prizes from people we don't know. There have been instances where there really we no prizes, or people were using the term "contest" to get free work done
Sadly the Internet is full of bottom feeders, so we try our best to make this a safe enviroment

cappy is well-respected in here, i know because i always consider it an honour when you actually reply/write on my thread.
and yes, its always best to keep cafe safe from free-loaders, you never know who's in here with a contest thread to get some free work and disappear later.
