I have your Lightroom 2 DVD, and have a question on the dng preferences. In your DVD and in Kelby's Lightroom 2 book, there is an option under imports to import as "compressed (lossless), but, in my Lightroom 2, I only have "Embed Original Raw File." I checked for Lightroom updates and there were none. I don't want to increase the file size by embeding the original Raw File, but am confused.

Embedding the raw file will serve no purpose as you will need a utility to access it later.

What format are you shooting? Did you run all the updates both on your OS and LR?

I'm shooting in RAW, highest, and OS and LR are both updated.

When you choose Import Photos it's there under File Handling > Choose the copy Photos as DNG option.
If the option isn't there, thencontact Adobe tech support, because it should be.
