    I was playing in PS and tried to add lightning to my dock on the bay.

    The shape looks pretty realistic, it needs some color. Where the bolt comes out of the cloud needs a little work.

    I agree, the starting point needs to be looked at to become more realistic. Good job though

    Agree about the starting point, and a reflection in the water would help.

    the end looks great, the start doesn't though, find some photos of lightning for ideas

    Try looking at some of Don Nauman's work. He's lives a little further than spitting distance from me (maybe 2 miles). I'm a tough one to sell on a pseudo-lightning. I'm in the lightning capitol of the world in Florida. Cloud kinda has to be lit from the inside. I always liked to watch heat lightning on summer nights. I do however really like the shot. Lightning can reach out quite a distance from it's 'host' cloud like in your pic (that's why it's "everybody out of the pool" at the first sign. Babble, babble, babble
