    Help with E-Commerce

Hello all, I have taken on an ambitious project. I am setting up an online store that needs to sell music. Somewhat like itunes or soundtaxi (http://www.soundtaxi.net/royalty-free-music.htm), where the user previews a song and purchases it. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I can accomplish this task. I'm a bit confused on how I could develop instant secure downloads. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes it certainly does, though maybe I'm making it harder than it actually is. I mean thousands of people sell digital files online, in fact I'm sure a number of people on this forum sell their photography and designs using some sort of digital file merchant. I found a few ideas that may work though I haven't found a whole lot of reviews on them:

    http://www.interspire.com/shoppingcart/faq.php (offers downloadable products)

I'm still working this out and I'll let you know how this works. Thanks for the reply.

    Hey,

Look into Zencart as a base of your shop if u have limited funds. Unless you want to fluentely learn php, test for bugs, create new add ons when something needs updating etc. Zencart is a great free package that should cater for most of your needs. And if it doesnt at least it will be far easier to create an add on to an exisiting shop then creating a shop from scratch.

    Good luck!

For some inspiration you could also check out this royalty free shop. Imo one of the better musicstores.
