    Can\'t update photoshp7 to 7.1

I have reinstalled Photoshop 7 a number of times and am still not able to update with the update I downloaded from Adobe's website. It just keeps telling me that it can't find the program. I have no idea what to do. Is anyone able to help me at all with this problem? Thanks in advance.

does it give you away to change the location of were the program is at. if soo just changed it to were it is at.

and if it dosent work, just wait for Photoshop8 i bevlie its comming out soon.

Yes I am able to point it to where the program is and I have done just that and it still won't upgrade. The fact is...why I* should wait for photoshop 8 when I just bought this dumb program 1 week ago? I guess that I will need to just go back to my Paint Shop Pro. It never gave me any problems like this. Adobe needs to stop charging so much for a program that won't even update.

I have no idea what warez is and what you say makes no sense at all. How would I know when Adobe is getting ready to come out with a new version anyway? I only use LEGAL software on my computer. What is wrong with that anyway? Thanks for your help. Like I said I will let all of my friends that Photoshop isn't worth their time and to sat with Paint Shop Pro who doesn't seem to mind giving help when needed.

I've never had a problem with updates through Adobe, but maybe it's different between a Mac and PC. I have a Mac and like I said I have never had problems with the Adobe site. Are you downloading straight from the Adobe site or from some other site?

This is just my opion but I think Adobe more than has it's stuff together and yes the programs are not cheap but like the saying goes, "You get what you pay for"

I did download the upgrade from the Adobe site and I can tell you that with what I have encountered, it most assuredly is not true about getting what you pay for. PSP is much cheaper and I have never had one problem with it or their upgrades. I just decided to go ahead and get Photoshop because I am getting much more involved with my graphics. So much for this program though. Thanks for posting though.

I bet you cant do most of the stuff most of us can do with PSP, PS is the best graphics picture wise program around.

If you bought the upgrade then you screwed your self over because the upgrade box and the INstall box look exactly the same, and worth the same amount.

you might want to fix your registry if you installed it correctly.

Firstly, does PS7 work after the install?

Secondly, where did you install it if it is working? Are you pointing the upgrader at where you installed it correctly?

I never paid for the upgrade. I thought it was a free upgrade. At least that is what I understood. Was I supposed tom pay for it? That would even be worse than I thought because PSP gives free upgrade that are minor, which is what this upgrade for PS 7 is.

Yes PS 7 works fine. And yes, I did point the upgrade to where it is installed but it just won't install for some reason. It just keep telling me that it can't find it.

Here is a question for all of you...Could any of this be caused by the fact that Photoshp Elements is also installed on my computer?

Possibly. Maybe you should give tech support a call. I've never paid for an Adobe update, and every one I've ever gotten from Adobe has worked great. It's obviously a local issue. I bet having two seperate versions of PS on your system can create confusion though...
