    re-use a selection - like a \"cookie cutter\"?

    Hi,

    I'm helping my wife with a montage project & I need some help!!!

    The end goal is to have a montage of several mannequins against a textured background. Each mannequin is "filled" with a different vintage fabric.

    I have the mannequin image, the background, and all the vintage fabric images.

    I can trace the mannequin image using quick mask to make a selection.

    How do I use the mannequin selection in the vintage fabric images to select the fabric in the mannequin shape? And then how do I move them into the background image for the montage?

    Thanks very much for the help! Very much appreciated!
    Adam

    im not sure if i get the question, but yes you can save a selection and then load it later on the same or different document!

    to save a selection:
    select the area of the image with the select tool you want;
    right-click inside the selection and then click Save Selection...;
    type a name for your selection and you can also choose in what document you want to save it (note that this can only be done if you have more documents opened at the same time);

    then, dont close the document where you saved the selection, go to the other you want to load it and:
    (on the menu bar) Select > Load Selection...
    choose the selection you saved previously (make sure you chose the right document also)

    Then youre done!

    hope this helped!
