although i think the tear should fall from the corner of the eye as it normally does, and not from the middle...

I'm curious what the story is

my brain wants to see some colour in the background so there's a little mental distress on my part (personal preference)

I do think the technique is done very well, the tear in the middle doesn't bother me. It's definitely your style.
