Very Very nice DT. I love the Sphinx because of the clean cut. I question #2 with the grain apparently running across the pillars but overall, they look good to me.

Hey Jim, I had a big debate about that with the client. We both agreed that we should take some licence, as it looked better with the grain running horizontally rather than vertically. Technically, it could also be achieved in real life building by using timber this way. I also did one of the Parthenon where the columns are made in sections (as they really are). In fact, I've added that visual to my post.

I do agree with you DT. There is a method of using smaller bits of wood, gluing them together and shaping them on a turning machine so I will let yopu off with it.
