Vin, yes indeed, Font Folio 11 is very impressive but with a price tag to go along with it.

Well now, Adobe was a little generous when some of those fonts when they shipped CS2 Premium.

    The Font Thang...

lordy, u could buy a royal enfield for that price! speaking of fonts, managers and whatnot, the oldest bit of software that i own and use almost everyday was written by sue fisher before the millenium:

the beta 0.80 dated 22 Dec 1999 is still running strong; i don't think i can say that about any other program that i have on a pc.

well, we'll keep our eye on folio here for the "nepali" version

I cry with that price tag. In real life. But to be honest if you think about it on 10 computers its worthit. But since they limit you to purchase 5 licenses. You are forced.

Its great for company / corporation. Stinks for the average graphic designer trying to make it big.

To bad they just didnt just charge a extra 400-500 on the master creative suite. To get this master piece.

    But on another hand.

Im curious to see how others deal with this. Hopefully one day adobe does contribute this to the creative suite bundle. For single license use.

From the press release, it sounds more like a package of fonts rather than a font management software. Considering how badly we still need viable font management in OS X (Suitcase Fusion is a step forward, but still not there), I'm kinda disappointed. I think everyone misses the old Adobe Type Manager from OS 9.

I don't know about anyone else, but I friggin can't stand when software title install their own fonts! Adobe is guilt of this as well, especially where Illustrator is concerned! I'm one of those guys who wants his list to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 6, unless I specifically turn on additional typefaces. Microsoft is probably worse than Adobe, hiding the fonts from Office in all sorts of nooks and crannies.

You got that right Scott! It is so annoying. I have to go on this great search to see where they have so graciously put their fonts, remove them, and then place in my font manager.

So pretty much because of the Font Management you would advise against it for now?

But obviously you could create seperate folders to make collections and activate them when needed? My computers for the most part have a extreme amount of ram. I realy doubt I would have a Issue loading them. Im assuming it will cause slower load up time If I just chose to be wreckless and load them at ounce.

Vin, Adobe is selling a collection of fonts here.
Use your own font manager and folders to activate, deactive.

If you got the $$$$ then purchase it! It's a beautiful collection.

I got a very big collection fonts, collected all of the years i got a computer. Some fonts you have to pay, but in the early days they were free!!

As a font manager i use AMP Font Viewer. I know it's not the same but i just never used a font manager and wouldn't know what to do with it.
