PHP and Other Web Programming Languages

My knowledge of web design is so far only static pages and a little action script for flash. I want to start to learn to build dynamic websites with forms, and online stores too but I don’t know which language to learn.. Don’t really like it much. I hope someone can recommend an easy language for a beginner programming like me. I am in the air with cold fusion and php. If I learn php or cold fusion.

IMHO PHP (with MySQL - databases) is the future and therefore your best bet to learn. I would buy a reference book and get your hands on some web applications in php...

This way you can take them apart and learn by doing instead of reading about everything.

    Just my 2c

Right now PHP is the standard, but I think the industry is making a swing towards .NET development. My current job search proves that nearly every web application developer wants/needs a .net guru.
