3ds max 4 problem plz help me!
hi there peepz, I have a problem I cant seem to run 3ds max4 on windows xp, it comes up with an message saying this version cant run on xp, but I have heard that you can download a patch or something, but I dont know wot to do??

im guessing after spending $1000+ from discreet youve tried their site right?
search the discreet support files. or email them directly to protect your investment

actually that kind of talk is not allowed on this board.
Ish I know you know this so don't continue it.
So urb what it means is this. The c-dilla licensing software that comes with your copy of MAX is out of date and does not run under WinXP.
There is a patch for it at Discreet.
If your copy is legit it will work for you.
If not you're SOL.

Why do you think it's warez? He never said it was, stop jumping to conclusions.
Urb, I don't think it will work on the home edition but if you have the XP pro then go to Microsoft and go to the updates section and click on scan for updates and then download the Service PAck 1 file, that might help.

I've been told that some software won't run on XP. I've got one prog that didn't run well at all on XP but went along fine on the old machine running ME. That was MGI Video Wave 4, but the upgrade to 5 seems to run fine. Now on the other end of the spectrum, Strata, the old 3.0.2 free version, wouldn't run hardly at all on the old machine, but it's happy as a clam at high tide on XP. Go figure. Maybe you need to upgrade it.
