Render Clouds in CS3
I have a problem with CS3. I just tried it out, and something is different compared to earlier versions it seems.
When I render clouds to a layer (blank or otherwise) instead of using the foreground & background colors to color the clouds, the clouds are always shades of gray.
I am trying to do a tutorial that requires colored clouds to work on an effect, but apparently the tutorial is from an older version of PS, because it states that it will automatically use the foreground & background colors for the clouds.
What am I doing wrong?

did u check that ur document is in rgb or cmyk instead of greyscale?
-
Yes, I can even paint a few brush strokes and they show up in color.
-
Also noticed there are several filter options that are grayed out, such as texture (another one that I need for this tutorial) and the filter gallery is grayed out as well.
-
are u in 8bits or 16bits?
i'm not v sure since i'm running cs2. trying to just think of possibilities.
-
I started a 16 bit RGB image so that's not the problem. I'm gonna try and reinstall my old copy of CS1 (since that was what the tutorial was written for anyway) and see if it works for me.

it should be 8bits.
a fair number of filters are not available in 16bits.

Ok, apparently the filter clouds, works in 16 bit color mode, but it doesn't use the foreground & background color, it only uses black & white. It works perfectly fine in 8 bit color mode.

What's the problem? Just use ctrl+u
hue and saturation....

Thanks
