Design Resume
Just worked this up in about 3 hours last night for a client that wanted to see some past works. Being that the client is an interior decorater, I wanted to be perceived as having the same interest in "style" as her, hence the colours and the image of the couch. Please let me know what you think of it.
Thanks so much!

Very nice work, slick and very professional. But as a trained interior designer, I wonder if it may not come across as a bit too "scientific" and rigid, and not with enough sense of a fashion feel? Interior designers/decorators utilise science and technology, but the final presentation, or incarnation of their work is all about tickling the senses.
I really like the couch pic you use upfront, and also wonder if you shouldn't make more of that by getting the layout to look a little more organic? Think of what interior decorators look for... colour, texture, light interplay, and visual interest/excitement.
(I trust this comes across as positive comment!)

I couldn't agree more dogtrombone. I've tried and tried to create more organic layouts, being that they are what's hot right now, but I seem to have a really tough time. There also doesn't seem to be much literature on the subject either. Do you have any suggested reference material? Books, Websites? My skills as an 'artistic' web designer leave much to be desired....
I love the couch picture too! It provided for a great color scheme without having to do much work.

Check out for some ideas:

You'll probably get some good ideas from some of the illustrators' sites at www.theispot.com
There are plenty there, but it might also be a bit hit and miss!

The habitat product browser just gave me some huge ideas. I really appreciate the help.
