Figured this could be a fun topic. Here is, by far, one of the dumbest tutorials I have ever come across. Feel free to leave links to other dumb, useless, or otherwise random tutorials!

why is it in rippers corner?
it may not be that good as a tut.. but still ok.. i wouldnt consider it dumb since i've encountered such questions before..
Didn't mean to post it in the Ripper's Corner. Still getting a handle on the forums.
I would have to completely disagree, though, that this tut is "ok". First, it is ambiguous at best. There is no instruction on how to use the one tool it mentions (polygonal lasso). He calls leaving the text backwards on the sign "abstract." There is absolutely no way that a newbie to Photoshop (who it is obviously intended for) would be able to follow his/her logic.
Essentially, the instructions are: cut this, drag it, flip it. Without providing ANY kind of actual technical advice for people new to Photoshop.
Anyway, I just thought it was funny. I definitely am not into name-calling or insulting anyone, I just thought it could be a funny topic.
Much love!

Wow. Way to not read the post right above yours, obviously. I stated that I know it's for beginners. AND IT'S STILL USELESS!Originally posted by zeaLous

Nice input, though.![]()
Any and every tut that you find is really not stupid. Cause remember you were looking at those types of tuts back in the day.
yeah, we were looking at them and laughng (or cyring) our heads off because of the sheer simplicity of it....
No such thing as a dumb tutorial, we all started in that place and it isn't fair to discount any level of training. Same thing goes with books, someone will find interest in any piece of learning, even if it is a repeated concept or an opinion.

My question is, why do you feel the need to post about tutorials that you feel are substandard in the first place? The tut might be simple, but for some one fresh outta the box with PS, its short and to the point.
Mind you it could really use the steps about how to CUT OUT the sign in the first place, and their "other example" is missing the sign entirely
As a matter of fact, if I were totally new to PS I'd be bloody confused!
...you know what.....it IS a dumb tutorial! Go figure!![]()
