I love the idea and I think the fact that you are using inanimate objects makes it all the more mystical. Tigers or people leaping out of the page would be too typical.

I was in Croatia a few years back and when I look at the pictures they seem to pop out of the pages; the buildings and the people alike. I've never been to Paris but know that it is a lively city.

This graphic to me shows the livelihood of Paris beyond a static polaroid pic. I like the idea.

"coming to live" doesnt have to be real life things like animal, humans etc.making a picture coming to live is add dynamics to a piece.
for me this piece has come to live compared to the original image.
Good work elemento. try a grey outline for your poloraid also the surface of the polaroid could be whiter immo.

Just so we're clear... I'm not suggesting that there have to be animals, tigers, people, beetles or three-toed sloths to make it come to life.
This image could be made to come to life, but as it is now, there are no dynamics that would indicate life. elemento, you've made a good start... I think you'll find the secret is in making the Polaroid really work for its living. Now get it to work, we're all watching!

It's titled "When MOMENTS come to life". Look at it this way, you take a picture and it captures that moment. Walking past the Eiffel Tower is a moment. You bring the picture home, pull it out of the picture album and BAM the Eiffel tower sprouts out in your living room. It has now come to life.

I think if she erases the portion of the sky that is behind the tower and over the polaroid, these moments will be just fine.

In the end, isn't all this just a matter of opinion? None of us are in a position to critique HOW she sees moments and life; really tech support is what we are qualified to give.

elemento, I hope we're not confusing you.
proverbialthought, I'm not here to pick a fight with anyone, and I agree with what you're saying.
All I'm trying to add to the debate is some real world experience, gained over 20 years of working with art directors and clients around the world. Technical capability and support is great (and your suggestions re the sky etc are spot on) but there is huge value in first establishing and understanding the message, its intent, and the "how" of what you're doing.
    Respect.

I think that the cocept is great. My only criticism is the blue sky in the tower should be knocket out so you can see the polaroid. It may also add more interest if you curve the polaroid slightly so it appears to be palling to the ground.

You all can just call me PT for short. Cool.

    Respect to you to.

I don't take no offense from anyone and don't assume I am right. I am just interested in discussing these issues, not trying to be right. I think discussions like this are the beauty of art, especially digital artwork.

As for 20 years in the business, your business experience trumps my entire photoshop experience by double; and most of my professional experience I have been creative director with very few people to challenge my perspective so I am sure that you know more from a professional standpoint. All I am is an art theorist because my professional theories go largely unchallenged. When they are challenged I often behave like a baby and pout about it (in a professional way of course).

So build, and please never think I am offended by disagreement, and please never take offense at my words.

    I know...

B.O.T., I look forward to seeing updates on this project.
