    Ripping off Question

    I understand what is it but let say this site had competition and the person said i liked this sort of logo designed and showed u a logo on website if you copyed that but changed it abit would this still be ripping off if this the case how do u design a logo same as another logo with out ripping it off?

    Taking the logo and "changing" a part is still ripping, but it would depend on the use of the new logo. If it is for entertainment than it is protected under Parody... such as MadTV.. etc.

    However if it is for pure profit than it would be ripping and really the only way to make a similar logo would be to study the design, layout, typography, composition, and work from portions of the logo design, but not use the entire logo in your re-creation.

    ok got another question then let's say I design a logo and use colin's Rap Style Diamonds (Tutorials) look would that be class as ripping off?

    my opinion is no.

    but credit Colin would be the best route

    yes and no, if the work is completey 100 % the persons original work then yes it is.

    Work that is 100% you, is covered for 70 years from and after your death, here in UK anyway.

    if the work is not all yours, peolple can change it.

    When you take something from the Internet and use it in your work, it is ripped. The only way it isn't is when you use it according to the terms given, or with permission, if there are none than it is protected by copyright laws.
