    So what do you think?

Now that the power-downloaders have had a few hours to play, what do you think? Have any initial pros and cons?

    Great upgrade.
PS 10 loads in about 4 seconds on my G5.
The improvements to Bridge make it very usable. The loupe tool is nice.

    Photoshop;
    Editable filters.
    New curves.
    Refine Edge.
    Getting used to the palettes.
    Quick selection tool is interesting.
    Black and white adjustment layer.

I will definitely pay for the final upgrade.

I've only played for a bit, but I'm frustrated that you can't put a mask on each filter layer of the smart filter. I want to be able to lower the opacity of the filter and change the way they interact with each other.

I think to have the maximum flexability it still pays to apply only one filter to the layer.

    am I missing something?

I love the B&W adjustment layer! The curve box is great!

Although all the filters in the Smart Filter group are controlled by one mask, you can in fact change the Blend Mode and Opacity for each filter individually. To the extreme right of the filter name is a small icon... double click this and a dialog box opens that allows you to change these settings for that specific filter. VERY cool stuff. I agree with you on the Mask issue though... it would be nice to have a mask for each filter, but hey, there is always the next version.

I did finally notice that. I was frustrated by the apperant lack of that option. I was trying to do it in what I thought was the more obvious way...clicking the filter layer then adjusting the opacity/blend mode at the top of the layers palate. To bad they couldn't have intergrated it that way.

Overall the addition of the non destructive filters is a HUGE feature. no more getting stomach aches over my guassian blur and unsharp mask settings

I like the feature in bridge where when you select multiple files in the bridge in the preview. It loads all them up on the screen at different sizes.

I like the overall interface changes, although I already miss the top-mounted palettes. Also, I am used to having my brushes palette attached to the top, and therefore it closes when I click back on the active area. So its a bit annoying when I have to hide each palette manually after getting what I need. I kinda wish they had done with InDesign does and have every palette fly-out when needed. This way is good too - very customisable.

I also blogged about it on www.perezfox.com - have a read.
