    Withering Wait

Here's something I did in the midst of exams preparation :

Its a photomanipulation piece, photo taken from Sven Jenssen.

    Withering Wait

    Full :

    The Closeups :

    --

It initially started as a little piece, but turned out I spent quite a bit of time at the tweaking and etc. This is a new piece that I've submitted to the Cafe Gallery Mural Project (http://cafe-gallery.rayvolvez.com | http://www.photoshopcafe.com/cafe/vi....php?tid=37321)

The file size is also surprisingly big for the dimensions at 291mb.. Street. Stranded. was only 200mb.

    As usual, critics and comments..

Welcome to dark art club Nice work, its pretty cool with dark tones. I like the composition but maybe there is a bit too much darkeness on the top of the tree..no other crits to say, something different from you this time

Not dark art yet, Jusu.. I would say this is more of a depressive or depression..

The dark near the tree is meant to be.. The dark clouds hovering on the tree, which has withered, which is now old or dying..

I wrote this little description, thought I will share it here..

    Withering Wait
A wait withering, you never did appear again.
A dream, we weaved then and we sever now.
    The love dashed into vain.

I've been waiting, waiting all came to be in vain.

I stood up, walked on and now away.
Let time bury it all now.

    As the time ticks away,
    My world fades away.
    Sepia, then darkness.

its awesome, the only thing i would like to say is that the heart is not very "integrated" on the tree, if u know what i mean...
    but anyway, it rocks!!

Attached is a bigger version but still under 80kb and under 700px wide:

This will be part of the series entitled "Total Eclipse of The Heart", series is inspired by Westlife's cover track "Total Eclipse of The Heart", well, I can listen to the song 24 hrs non-stop and it is really really good. Of course, the original version by Bonnie Tyler's is good too.

The song "Total Eclipse of The Heart" really gives me a lot of inspirations and let my creative juices flow, a lot of visual imagery just appears in my head, I really can't wait to get back to Photoshop and get the entire series in my head out, with Photoshop, after my exams :P

I made this piece Withering Wait while listening to the song "Total Eclipse of The Heart".. The new series will be based on forlorn mood, heartbreaks, sadness, depression.

Now for a I love Westlife and its been a long 7 years since I was 12 years old.

Now back on topic, thanks Hrc, its always great that you never fail to crit my works.. And yes, you will seeing more of this style..

PM, I have to agree about the heart, but I was actually more concerned with getting the shape visible which probably isn't that sensible an idea looking back.

The highlight of this piece has to be the "clock" which some told me that it is really cheesy or it really takes too much attention, the idea Time has stopped and ended, with the world fading away. The clock is left there, because time has ended at the moment the wait came to naught.

I have to say that of all my recent works, this is my favourite piece!

    And...

It is dedicated to one of my favourite Illustrator & Photoshop expert on here, Philip J. Neal.. Also, my friendly website tech support, who rescues my site's problems all the time.. He is the one who really pushes me out of my comfort zone and make me want to try new styles..

I really hope you like my new style, Philip. & I hope to see you back on the forum soon again. Hope your moving is going great.

Thats fantastic Ray, I love it! I was really taken in by it!

But I do have to agree with the comment about the heart, it just doesnt look quite right, at least not in the ZOOMED image...not so bad in full view.
