Killer Chess [3d and Photoshop] :UPDATED

Here is something that I put together with Cinema 4D and Photoshop. I modeled all the pieces myself

The render before going into Photoshop

This is a fantastic piece. The colors flow nicely and it's very dark and angry looking. I love it!

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to make the knight sinister and intimidating (thats why it looks like a dragon)

I love the knight alot of detail in it. What was the thought process behind the small opening of light in the clouds (top left)?

Nice job colin. Have you been playing chess recently?

    Good questions Gankstah

The clouds are actually manipulated from a photo I took a while back. The opening is where the light breaks through to provide the rim lighting on the pieces. Originally I was going to add some rays, but decided that it would detract too much from the image as a whole.

Yeah, I have been playing a little bit. Good excersise for the mind, helps to keep you sharp.

I think you did it great. The thing i find amazing about design is that sometimes the most subtle change, can affect the composition. By having that opening it showed me the light without overpowering the rest of the imagery.

Chess is a great excercise for sure =0.
