It's got some cool stuff, and it is a bit challenging, especially if you're used to photoshop or fireworks.
Save your pennies and you can get Photoshop Elements for about $100.
It's better in the long run.
I've got Gimp for the sole purpose that I've got some clients that always save their files in the native gimp file extensions.
It's not hard to use!!! Of course it takes some time to get used to... but it's free!!
