How do I show hidden characters (reveal formatting) in PowerPoint?
-

not sure if i'm right, but i dun think its possible in ppt..

Stupid Microsoft.
Bad enough they won't let you keep formatting from one document to another or let you keep formatting when pasting over text...

Phil I have checked and rechecked using Power Point 2003, I am unable to fine any way to show hidden characters...when I think about it that does kind of suck. The work around would be to copy from Power Point and paste into Word...and that too is a pain in the what's it...but it works.

Phil, you might try pasting your text into Notepad and then copying and pasting from there into PPT. This also works for other apps including PS. I use it all the time for Director.

Yeah. It just doesn't help when someone has already supplied half-formatted text because I'll have to redo the entire thing. I was trying to copy/paste some stuff from to/from TextEdit for minor editing, but everytime I would paste it back it would change my left-aligned 18 point Myriad to 24 point center-aligned Arial and destroy any semblance of tabs.

EDIT: Yeah, Frank, on a PC this would be a breeze. Notepad rules. This new Mac, I'm not so sure about. (Yeah, they got me the new Quad-Zion thingy and I STILL prefer PC, even though this stupid thing actually turns off when I ask it to).

Phil,
When you paste from another application you can choose to keep the source fomatting, this should solve your problem. Or at least it works for me.

That would be great Jim. Where do I set that up?
