I went through the some tutorials and made this pic, nothing spectacular and only took about 30-40 mins, I like it though Still there is more touching up to be done.

oh, and I had to do it in PS7 as not yet upgraded my latop to XP. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Interesting but I think the top of the ball needs a lot of work. perhaps a bit of shading and highlighting here and there to create a rounded effect rather then the flat effect that it gives.
